Both Exchange and Sharepoint Online have a new type of licence available, a “Deskless Worker” licence. These are ideal for users who need only limited access to these systems:
Exchange Online Deskless Worker includes a 500MB mailbox for e-mail, calendar, contacts and Outlook Web Access Light along with anti-virus and anti-spam capabilities. Also, mail cannot be accessed via Outlook or mobile devices.
SharePoint Online Deskless Worker gives users read-only access to portals along with the capability to fill out forms. These subscriptions do NOT include any storage so you would also need to purchase standard Sharepoint Online subscriptions, as each of these give 250MB storage.
Pricing:They are £1.34 per user per month, (so £16.08 per user per year) and represent a real saving over the Standard licences; 80% saving for Exchange and 72% savingfor Sharepoint. You can also buy the “Deskless Worker Suite” which includes both licences for £2.01…a further 25% saving!The Deskless Worker licences remove cost barriers and allow companies to include previously excluded workers in the corporate messaging/collaboration systems. These can be employees such as factory workers, part time staff, consultants and more.
